Smoky Mountain Logistics LLC, a Tennessee-based last-mile delivery provider, is permanently closing its Lebanon, Tennessee, operations, resulting in the layoff of 145 employees.
The shutdown is scheduled to take effect Feb. 28, according to a WARN notice filed with state officials.
The company operates as an Amazon Delivery Service Partner, handling last-mile deliveries out of Amazon’s DTN8 delivery station in the Nashville metropolitan area.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration records indicate the company reported 75 drivers and 34 non-commercial motor vehicles in its most recent filing, underscoring its focus on last-mile delivery rather than traditional over-the-road trucking.
The closure adds to a growing number of transportation and logistics companies announcing shutdowns or workforce reductions early in 2026, as carriers face ongoing contract pressure, rising operating costs, and uneven freight demand.
