Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) has partnered with Class8 to provide Freightliner customers with a suite of digital tools designed to improve fleet profitability, including free electronic logging devices, load optimization, and dispatch planning technology.

The services are available immediately to owner-operators and small fleets operating fourth- and fifth-generation Freightliner Cascadia trucks. DTNA plans to expand access to additional Freightliner and Western Star models later this year.

Class8’s platform includes a free, wireless ELD compatible with drivers’ personal devices, load optimization technology that identifies the most profitable freight based on rates, timing, and empty miles, and Dispatch AI — a multi-leg planning tool that links spot and contract freight into efficient routes.

“Our service makes it simple for fleets to adopt what they need, when they need it,” said Chris Atkinson, CEO of Class8. “By removing the cost barrier with a free ELD and pairing it with load optimization and dispatch intelligence, carriers gain practical tools to improve margins without adding complexity.”

The Class8 tools are delivered through DTNA’s Detroit Connect telematics platform, which provides real-time visibility into truck and driver performance.

“At Daimler Truck North America, our growing services portfolio is curated to create immediate, measurable value for our customers,” said Sanjiv Khurana, general manager of DTNA’s Fleet Services Group. “By expanding Detroit Connect through partnerships like Class8, we are helping customers unlock greater efficiency, safety, and profitability as part of our long-term digital transformation strategy.”
